Ready for an adventure? Our 1-Day Rwenzori Mountain Climbing Safari experience takes you through the stunning landscapes of the Rwenzori Mountains, Africa’s third-highest mountain range. With an altitude range from 1,600 meters to 5,109 meters above sea level, the Rwenzori Mountains are known as “The Mountains of the Moon” and are a true highlight of Uganda’s natural beauty.

Located on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Rwenzori Mountains are part of the Rwenzori Mountains National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to lush rainforests, unique wildlife and spectacular views, making it an unforgettable destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

What to Expect on Your 1-Day Rwenzori Mountain Climbing Adventure

Our 1-Day Rwenzori Mountain Climb takes you through pristine tropical rainforests and along the Munyamubili River. You’ll encounter vibrant plant and flower species, spot butterflies and listen to the sounds of birds and monkeys as you trek through mist-covered landscapes.

This trek is a relatively easy forest walk with a steady climb through montane forests, tall trees and thick undergrowth. As you make your way to the highest point of the trek, you’ll reach 2,373 meters at Omusita Rest Spot. Along the way, you may spot wildlife such as chimpanzees, black-and-white colobus monkeys and an array of bird species. The trail runs along the top of the Nyamwamba River, where you can take in views of ravine forests and spot kingfishers and other water-loving birds.

At the end of your trek, you’ll have lunch in the forest before descending back down, making it a day full of natural beauty and adventure.
