Day 1

Domestic Flight to Kidepo Valley National Park

Your adventure begins with a drive to Entebbe International Airport for a domestic flight to Kidepo Valley National Park. Upon arrival, you'll transfer to your lodge for check-in and enjoy an afternoon game drive before relaxing at the lodge for the night.

Day 2

Full-Day Game Drives in Narus Valley

After an early breakfast, head to Narus Valley for a morning game drive. This valley is a haven for wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes, zebras, and various bird species. The valley’s permanent water sources attract large herds of buffalo, and you might even witness big cats hunting. Return to the lodge for lunch, then set out for an evening game drive in Narus Valley.

Day 3

Game Drive in Narus Valley and Hot Springs Visit in Kidepo Valley

Start your day with another game drive in Narus Valley, focusing on wildlife you may have missed earlier. Enjoy the panoramic views from observation points equipped with binoculars. After lunch, drive to Kidepo Valley to visit the hot springs and the Uganda-Sudan border. If lucky, you might spot giant ostriches in the area, though they have been heavily poached by Sudanese hunters. Seasonal rivers may cause brief interruptions during the rainy season. Return to the lodge for the night.

Day 4

Community Experience with the IK and Karamojong Communities

Spend the morning visiting the IK community, where you’ll experience their unique culture and traditional dances. The IK people live in fenced villages to protect against intruders and wild animals. In the afternoon, visit the Karamojong homesteads, known as Manyatta, where you'll interact with the elders and learn about their way of life. This cultural immersion offers a chance to contribute to their welfare through donations and to participate in daily activities like grazing and milking cows.

Day 5

Domestic Flight to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, transfer to the airstrip for a domestic flight to Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy an en-route game drive through the northern section of the park, known as Paraa, where you might spot various mammals and even big cats on the hunt. An afternoon game drive will provide more opportunities to observe wildlife before you settle in for the night.

Day 6

Morning Game Drive and Evening Boat Cruise

Begin the day with a morning game drive, when most animals are active and predators are on the prowl. Expect to see buffalo, giraffes, elephants, hippos, antelopes, and possibly large cats. After lunch, embark on an afternoon boat cruise to the base of the mighty Victoria Falls on the River Nile. The cruise offers views of crocodiles, hippos, water birds, and other animals that come to the river to drink. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7

Delta Cruise on the Nile and Afternoon Game Drive

Depart early from the lodge with a picnic lunch and head to the jetty for a morning boat cruise on the Nile Delta. This cruise provides an excellent opportunity to spot herds of buffalo, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest, giraffes, elephants, and numerous bird species. An afternoon game drive will round out the day before you return to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.

Day 8

Domestic Flight Back to Entebbe

After breakfast, fly back to Entebbe International Airport. Depending on your flight schedule, you may visit the top of Murchison Falls or stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track white rhinos before heading to the airport for your departure flight out of Uganda.

Can I reschedule or cancel this trip?

  • Rescheduling: You can reschedule this trip as a private tour to any date within 12 months at no additional cost.
  • Booking Deposit: A 30% deposit of the total tour price is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the tour departure date. Bookings not secured with the appropriate deposit will be released.
  • Cancellation Policy:
    • Cancel between 90 and 45 days before departure: 20% penalty of the tour price.
    • Cancel within 45 days of departure or no show: 100% penalty of the tour price.

Availability and Accommodations

  • Reservations: Accommodation and activity availability is not guaranteed until reservations are confirmed with the final itinerary and deposit payment. If any quoted accommodations are unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute them with suitable alternatives, which may affect the final quoted price.

Insurance

  • Requirement: All clients must have medical and travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.

Rates

  • Subject to Change: Tour rates are subject to change without notice. We will make every effort to maintain rates, but changes in government taxes or operating conditions may be passed on to clients.

Permit Cancellation Policy

Uganda Gorilla Permit Cancellation Policy

  • Guarantee: A Gorilla Permit is guaranteed only upon receipt of the deposit ($800 per person per trek) as it must be paid immediately to the Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Cancellation Fees

  • More than 90 days before tracking: 25% cancellation fee.
  • 89 to 46 days before tracking: 50% cancellation fee.
  • 45 to 9 days before tracking: 75% cancellation fee.
  • 8 to 0 days before tracking: 100% cancellation fee.

Important Information

  • Age Requirement: The minimum age for gorilla tracking is 15 years.
  • Health: Visitors with flu or other airborne diseases will not be allowed into the rainforest jungle to see the gorillas.
  • Safety Protocols: Masks must be worn at all times, and a distance of 10 meters must be maintained between you and the gorillas.
