Arrival and Transfer to Entebbe Guest House or Hotel
Arrive in Entebbe for your 9-day Kidepo Valley and Bwindi Gorilla Fly-In Safari. At the airport, you’ll be greeted by our driver/guide, who will transfer you to your guest house or hotel for the night. Your guide will meet you later to go over the details of the safari, ensuring that everything booked aligns with your expectations.

Transfer to Entebbe for Your Flight to Bwindi
Depending on the flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kihihi Airstrip. From there, our local guide will escort you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch if you’re on the morning flight, and opt for a forest or village walk in the afternoon. Afterward, relax at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, with packed lunch in hand, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Your guide will discuss the dos and don’ts during the trek and help determine the best gorilla family for you to visit, based on your interests, fitness, and age. Gorilla trekking can be challenging, requiring a certain level of fitness, and may take anywhere from 30 minutes to most of the day. Once you locate a gorilla family, you’ll have one hour to observe and photograph these magnificent creatures. Afterward, return to the park headquarters to receive your trekking certificate, followed by dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Fly Back to Entebbe Town
Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe. Upon arrival, our representative will take you to your guest house in Entebbe. The rest of the day is yours to explore the town, with optional activities such as visiting the Botanical Gardens, the Uganda Wildlife Education Center, or taking a nature walk.

Fly to Kidepo Valley National Park
Your safari continues with a transfer to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kidepo Valley National Park. The flight offers spectacular aerial views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes. Upon landing at Kidepo Valley Airstrip, our representative will transfer you to Apoka Safari Lodge, the premier lodge in the park. After lunch, relax or take a dip in the lodge’s pool before embarking on a late afternoon game drive in Kidepo Valley. Look out for buffaloes, elephants, hippos, and perhaps even lions or leopards before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Narus Valley, where you may encounter a variety of wildlife, including cheetahs if you’re lucky. The game drives in Kidepo are unique, often giving you the feeling of having the vast, unspoiled park to yourself. The surrounding hills add to the stunning scenery. Return to the lodge for lunch, followed by a visit to the Karamojong people in the afternoon. The Karamojong are known for their cattle-herding culture, and you’ll have the opportunity to visit their homesteads, known as Manyatas, where they’ll share their traditions and perform dances for you. Afterward, return to Apoka Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Morning and Afternoon Visit to the Karamojong Manyatas
After breakfast, you’ll take an en route game drive through Narus Valley as you head to Kidepo Valley. Here, you’ll have the chance to see many bird species, including the endangered ostrich. You’ll also visit the hot springs, where your guide will explain the cultural significance of the springs to the local people. If time permits, you may even visit the Uganda-South Sudan border before returning to the lodge for lunch, dinner, and overnight.

Game Drives in Narus Valley or Visit the IK People
You can choose between a morning and afternoon game drive or a visit to the Ik people, one of Uganda’s smallest ethnic groups who live in the mountains. Kidepo Valley National Park offers a wealth of wildlife and each day brings new surprises, making it worth spending extra time here to fully experience its unique offerings.

Fly Back to Entebbe – End of Safari
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Kidepo Valley Airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe. For those with onward flights, it’s advisable to book departures that leave no earlier than 8:00 PM..

Can I reschedule or cancel this trip?
- Rescheduling: You can reschedule this trip as a private tour to any date within 12 months at no additional cost.
- Booking Deposit: A 30% deposit of the total tour price is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the tour departure date. Bookings not secured with the appropriate deposit will be released.
- Cancellation Policy:
- Cancel between 90 and 45 days before departure: 20% penalty of the tour price.
- Cancel within 45 days of departure or no show: 100% penalty of the tour price.
Availability and Accommodations
- Reservations: Accommodation and activity availability is not guaranteed until reservations are confirmed with the final itinerary and deposit payment. If any quoted accommodations are unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute them with suitable alternatives, which may affect the final quoted price.
Insurance
- Requirement: All clients must have medical and travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances.
Rates
- Subject to Change: Tour rates are subject to change without notice. We will make every effort to maintain rates, but changes in government taxes or operating conditions may be passed on to clients.
Permit Cancellation Policy
Uganda Gorilla Permit Cancellation Policy
- Guarantee: A Gorilla Permit is guaranteed only upon receipt of the deposit ($800 per person per trek) as it must be paid immediately to the Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Cancellation Fees
- More than 90 days before tracking: 25% cancellation fee.
- 89 to 46 days before tracking: 50% cancellation fee.
- 45 to 9 days before tracking: 75% cancellation fee.
- 8 to 0 days before tracking: 100% cancellation fee.
Important Information
- Age Requirement: The minimum age for gorilla tracking is 15 years.
- Health: Visitors with flu or other airborne diseases will not be allowed into the rainforest jungle to see the gorillas.
- Safety Protocols: Masks must be worn at all times, and a distance of 10 meters must be maintained between you and the gorillas.
