Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Pickup from Kampala/Entebbe and Transfer to Kisoro

Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel or Kigali Airport (depending on your location). You’ll travel through beautiful countryside, making a stop at the Equator for a photo opportunity and lunch on the way. The drive takes about 8-9 hours, so you’ll arrive in Kisoro by evening, where you’ll enjoy dinner and stay overnight in one of the area’s lovely lodges.

Day 2: Full-Day Hike of Mount Sabyinyo

After an early breakfast, you’ll drive to the headquarters of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for a briefing by your expert guides. You’ll then embark on the hike to the summit of Mount Sabyinyo, which takes approximately 4-5 hours. The hike is moderately challenging, with plenty of opportunities to rest along the way. Once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views of the Virunga Volcanoes and the surrounding landscape.

After enjoying the views, you’ll descend back to the starting point and return to your lodge for relaxation. You can unwind before enjoying a delicious dinner.
