Best Time to Visit Bwindi for Gorilla Trekking

The best time for gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is during Uganda’s dry season, from June to October and December to March. During these months, rainfall is minimal, making trekking easier and more comfortable. The vegetation is less dense, providing better visibility for spotting the mountain gorillas and taking stunning photographs.

In contrast, during the wet season (April, May and November), the vegetation grows thicker, which can make gorilla sightings more challenging. However, the treks tend to be shorter, as the gorillas stay closer to their food sources. The Gorilla Habituation Experience is available year-round, with nearly a 99% chance of seeing the gorillas.
