Are you dreaming of meeting the incredible mountain gorillas in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park? If you’re looking to book a gorilla permit for the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family, Trek Africa Gorillas is here to make the process easy and stress-free. Whether you’re wondering how to book a gorilla permit, where to buy it or what the best time for gorilla trekking in Uganda is, we have all the information you need.

Where Can You Go Gorilla Trekking in East Africa?

Gorilla trekking can be done in Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Uganda is home to two gorilla parks: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Rwanda has Volcanoes National Park and in Congo, you can visit Virunga National Park or Kahuzi Biega National Park to see Lowland Gorillas.

To trek gorillas, a permit is required and it’s best to book your trip as early as possible—especially if you’re planning to visit during peak seasons from June to September. We recommend booking your gorilla trekking adventure at least 5 months in advance to secure your preferred dates and ensure availability.

How to Book Gorilla Permits for Nyakagezi Gorilla Family

To secure your gorilla trekking experience with the Nyakagezi Gorilla Family, simply confirm your travel dates and send us an email at info@trekafricagorillas.com. Our team will check the availability of permits for your preferred dates with the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Once the permits are confirmed, we’ll send you an invoice for payment. After receiving your payment, we will immediately purchase your permits and send you a scanned copy for your records. This confirms your booking for a gorilla trekking experience in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

For the best chance of securing your permit, we recommend booking at least 2-3 months in advance, as gorilla permits are limited and sell out quickly—especially during peak seasons.
