Best Time to Go Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
The ideal trekking seasons in Kibale Forest are during Uganda’s dry periods: June to October and December to March. These months feature mild weather and less dense vegetation, improving chimpanzee sightings and photography.
Although trekking is possible year-round, the wet months of April, May and November bring heavier rainfall, making terrain more challenging and forest denser. Treks may be shorter during this time since chimpanzees tend to stay closer together for food.
