Explore the majestic Rwenzori Mountains and experience the unforgettable adventure of gorilla trekking in Uganda! The Rwenzori Mountains, located along the Uganda-Congo border, are a breathtaking destination rising to 5,109 meters above sea level, with Mount Stanley as the highest point. Known for their snow-capped peaks and equatorial glaciers, the Rwenzori Mountains are one of Africa’s greatest mountaineering challenges. Hike these awe-inspiring mountains, which are home to six distinct peaks—Stanley, Speke, Baker, Emin, Gessi and Savioa—offering a unique blend of adventure and stunning landscapes.

The Rwenzoris are famous for being the highest source of the Nile and during your hike, you’ll encounter a rich variety of wildlife, including mammals and numerous bird species. Whether you are a seasoned climber or a nature enthusiast, the Rwenzori Mountains offer a memorable experience for all.

Best Time to Hike the Rwenzori Mountains

The best time to hike the Rwenzori Mountains is during the dry season, from June to September and December to February. These months provide drier trails, making the hike more accessible and the roads leading to the mountains easier to navigate. However, since the Rwenzori Mountains are high-altitude, expect occasional drizzle and slippery conditions at the summit. Be sure to pack the right hiking gear to ensure a comfortable and successful journey.
