About Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Located in the southern part of Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park shares a border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is one of only two parks in the world where you can trek and view the magnificent mountain gorillas in the wild. Bwindi is home to more than half of the remaining mountain gorillas on Earth, making it a must-visit destination for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Bwindi is divided into several sectors for gorilla trekking, including Rushaga, Buhoma, Ruhija and Nkuringo. Each sector has its own group of habituated gorilla families, with a dominant silverback male leading each family. A limited number of visitors (8 people per family per day) are allowed to trek to ensure minimal disturbance to the gorillas and their natural environment.

To trek, you must obtain a valid Gorilla Permit for the day of your visit. Eco Adventure Safaris will help you secure your permit and guide you through the booking process for a seamless experience.

What’s Included in the 3-Day Bwindi Gorilla Tour

The cost of a 3-day gorilla tour to Bwindi includes transportation, gorilla permits, accommodation and service fees. Depending on the number of people in your group, the total cost can vary. We provide a breakdown of each cost and ensure that your trip fits your budget and preferences.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi: What to Expect

Bwindi is divided into four main trekking regions: Ruhija, Buhoma, Rushaga and Nkuringo. The trekking experience begins at 7:00 AM with a briefing from park guides on the dos and don’ts of trekking and interacting with the gorillas. After the briefing, park guides, rangers and trackers will lead you through the forest in search of the gorillas. Once you find them, you’ll have one hour to observe them in their natural habitat before returning to the starting point.

Gorillas share 95% of our DNA, making them incredibly fascinating to watch. Keep in mind that only eight visitors per family per day are allowed to participate in the trek, ensuring a more intimate and controlled experience. Visitors must be 15 years or older to participate, in accordance with Uganda Wildlife Authority policies.

• Gorilla Habituation Permits:
