2. What to Wear When Trekking Gorillas in Nkuringo

To make your gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park more enjoyable and comfortable, here’s what you should wear and bring:

• Long-sleeved sweater for warmth, as the park can get cold
• Two pairs of long trousers to protect your legs during the trek
• Waterproof hiking boots for comfortable trekking on wet trails
• Hat and sunglasses (optional) for sun protection
• Camera with long-lasting batteries to capture precious moments (remember to turn off the flash)
• Binoculars for birdwatching and spotting other primates in the forest
• Gardening gloves to help grip branches and trees during the trek
• Raincoat as Bwindi is a rainforest with unpredictable weather
• Mosquito repellent to protect against insect bites
• Sunscreen to protect your skin from the sun’s rays (optional but recommended during hot weather)

For your safety and to avoid disturbing the gorillas, avoid wearing bright colors that might startle them. Black and blue are also not recommended since they attract Tsetse flies. Opt for neutral colors like green, brown or beige.
