Gorilla Safari with a Permit: Your Ultimate Guide to an Unforgettable Experience
Gorilla Safari with a Permit — If you’re planning a trip to Uganda or Rwanda to see the magnificent mountain gorillas, booking a gorilla safari holiday with permits is essential. Wondering how to get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or need more information on the cost of permits? You’re in the right place!
Why Gorilla Permits Are Essential for Your Safari Adventure
Gorilla permits are mandatory when planning your gorilla safari to Uganda. The cost of a permit depends on your residency status:
- USD 800 for Non-Foreign Residents
- USD 700 for Foreign Residents
- Shs. 300,000 for East African Citizens
For those looking for a more immersive experience, gorilla habituation permits are available:
- USD 1,500 for Non-Foreign Residents
- USD 1,000 for Foreign Residents
- Shs. 750,000 for East African Citizens
These permits allow you to spend four hours with the gorillas, observing their daily activities such as feeding, resting and interacting within their family groups.
Gorilla Permit Availability and Booking Tips
Uganda offers a substantial number of permits but they sell out quickly during the high season (January, February, July, August, September and December). Once you contact us with your preferred travel dates, we will check the availability of permits and help you secure them. If permits are unavailable for your dates, we will assist you in choosing alternative dates. After payment, we’ll book your permits and send you a confirmation receipt with a booking ID.

For those eager to visit Bwindi, the 3-day gorilla tour is the perfect option. It includes transportation, gorilla permits, accommodation and service fees. The final cost will depend on the number of participants, the type of accommodation and transportation options you prefer.
At Trek Africa Gorillas, we tailor your trip to your budget and preferences, ensuring a memorable and comfortable experience.
