Gorilla Trekking in Buhoma Section

Gorilla Trekking in Buhoma Section, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

If you’re planning a gorilla trekking adventure in Buhoma, you’re in for an unforgettable experience. This section of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a favorite for many travelers due to its relatively gentle terrain, making it an ideal spot for an easier trek compared to other areas of the park. Located in the northern part of Bwindi, Buhoma was the first section to be habituated in 1993, just after Bwindi was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Buhoma is the most famous and frequently visited area of the park, home to the oldest gorilla family, Mubare, as well as three other families: Habinyanja, Rushegura and Katwe. Gorilla trekking is the main attraction here, offering you a rare chance to observe these majestic creatures up close in their natural habitat.
