Gorilla Trekking in January

Gorilla Trekking in January: A Perfect Adventure Awaits

Planning a gorilla trekking adventure in January? Look no further than Trek Africa Gorillas. We organize unforgettable gorilla trekking experiences in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park, Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park and Congo’s Virunga National Park. Whether you’re a first-time trekker or a seasoned traveler, we will help you plan and book your dream safari.

Why Trek in January?

January marks the start of the peak season for gorilla trekking, making it a great time to visit these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. While many people are focused on summer trips or beach vacations, January offers a unique opportunity to experience Africa’s lush forests and rare wildlife.

In addition to gorilla trekking, you can also combine your trip with visits to other national parks for wildlife safaris, boat cruises and cultural experiences.

Where to Go Gorilla Trekking in Africa

Africa is home to only four national parks where you can trek to see mountain gorillas:

• Uganda: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
• Rwanda: Volcanoes National Park
• Congo: Virunga National Park and Kahuzi-Biega National Park (for Lowland gorillas)

Each of these parks offers a unique experience, with breathtaking landscapes and the opportunity to observe gorillas in the wild. A gorilla permit is required for trekking and permits can sell out quickly, especially during peak seasons like January. To ensure you don’t miss out, we recommend booking your gorilla trekking tour at least 5 months in advance.

The permit includes:

• One hour with a habituated mountain gorilla family.
• Park entry fees to Bwindi or Mgahinga.
• Services of a UWA guide and a ranger with security equipment to ensure safety in the forest.
• The chance to take photographs and videos, so don’t forget your camera!

However, the cost of your permit does not include accommodation, meals, flight tickets or ground transport. We can help arrange these additional services as part of your travel package.
