Best Time to Visit Gorillas on Your Honeymoon

While gorilla trekking can be done year-round, the dry seasons are the most ideal:

• January to February
• June to September

During these months, the trails are drier, making it easier to navigate through the forests. Visibility is also better as the vegetation is less dense, giving you clearer views of the gorillas and better photo opportunities.

When and How to Book Your Gorilla Trek for a Stress-Free Honeymoon

Planning your dream honeymoon and considering gorilla trekking as part of your adventure? To ensure a smooth and unforgettable experience, it’s best to book your gorilla permits at least 3-6 months in advance. Gorilla trekking permits are highly sought-after, especially during the peak travel months of June to September and December to February. By securing your permits early, you avoid disappointment and lock in this once-in-a-lifetime experience for your honeymoon.

If you’re ready to plan your trip, simply send us your preferred travel dates and our team at Trek Africa Gorillas will check the availability of permits and other services for you.

Step-by-Step Gorilla Permit Booking Process for Your Honeymoon

Once we confirm the availability of gorilla permits on your chosen dates, we’ll guide you through the simple booking process. Here’s how it works:

1. Availability Check: We’ll immediately verify the number of available permits and inform you via email.
2. Payment Process: Once confirmed, you’ll make payment to our secure dollar bank account. We accept wire transfers, debit and credit card payments (note: card payments attract a small surcharge, which we’ll communicate in advance).
3. Permit Confirmation: After payment, we’ll purchase your gorilla permits from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) or relevant authorities in Rwanda and DR Congo.
4. Documentation: You’ll receive a scanned copy of the permit receipt for your records. On the day of your trek, our guide will present the permit for you.

To confirm your honeymoon gorilla trek with Trek Africa Gorillas, we require full payment for the permits upfront. The remaining balance for the safari can be settled 3 weeks before your trip. This arrangement ensures your permits are secured while giving you time to plan the rest of your honeymoon comfortably.

Understanding Gorilla Permit Cancellation Policies

Gorilla permits are non-refundable if canceled 8 days or fewer before the trek date. However, due to recent global challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, policies have become more flexible. In Uganda, for example, travelers affected by cancellations were allowed to reschedule their permits up to two times.
