Explore the Historic Seven Hills of Kampala

Kampala’s charm lies in its iconic seven hills, each with its own historical and cultural significance. While the city has expanded beyond these original hills, visiting them is a great way to learn about the area’s heritage. Here’s a quick guide:

• Old Kampala Hill: Home to Fort Lugard, the first British colonial seat in Uganda.
• Mengo Hill: The ancient capital of the Buganda Kingdom, rich in history.
• Kibuli Hill: Home to the Kibuli Mosque, an important religious site.
• Namirembe Hill: Known for the Namirembe Anglican Cathedral and its role in the Buganda religious wars.
• Lubaga Hill: Site of the Rubaga Catholic Cathedral and home to the Catholic faction of the Buganda religious wars.
• Nsambya Hill: Historic for its role in the British Catholic Mill Hill Mission.
• Nakasero Hill: Once the site of Fort Nakasero, a British military installation and home to European Hospital (now the Government Analytical Laboratory).

Each hill offers panoramic views of Kampala and its historical landmarks, perfect for a romantic day of sightseeing and exploring on your honeymoon.
