Best Time for Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale National Park

The best time to trek chimpanzees is during the dry seasons:

• June to October
• December to March

During these months, the forest trails are drier, vegetation is less dense and sightings are clearer—perfect for photography.

In the wet season (April, May and November), the forest is lush and while sightings may be slightly challenging, treks are shorter as chimpanzees don’t roam far for food, which is abundant. Kibale offers a 99% chance of seeing chimpanzees year-round, making it a reliable destination.
