Best Time to Book Your Summer Holiday Gorilla Trekking Tour

Summer in the northern hemisphere coincides with Rwanda’s drier season, which is the best time for trekking as the trails are easier to navigate and wildlife is more visible. However, this is also Rwanda’s peak season for gorilla trekking, which means permits and accommodations can sell out quickly. To ensure you secure your spot, it’s recommended to book your tour at least a year in advance.

If you’re planning to travel between June and September, it’s important to start booking now. We encourage you to reach out with your preferred dates and we’ll check the availability of gorilla permits and accommodations for you.

How to Secure Your Gorilla Trekking Permit

Gorilla trekking permits are in high demand during the dry season, so it’s crucial to book early. Once we confirm availability for your preferred trekking dates, we’ll guide you through the booking process. You’ll need to pay for your permit in full to secure it and we’ll hold your booking until we’ve received your payment.

Trek Africa Gorillas has direct access to the Rwanda Development Board’s gorilla permit database, so we can check availability and secure your permits in real-time. Once your payment is received, we’ll send someone to Rwanda Development Board’s office to finalize the booking. Afterward, we’ll send you the booking confirmation, along with the receipt for your records. We’ll keep your gorilla permits safe until your trip starts, ensuring everything is ready for your trek.

What’s Included in Our Summer Holiday Gorilla Trekking Safari in Rwanda

At Trek Africa Gorillas, we take care of all the details so you can relax and enjoy your Gorilla Trekking Safari in Rwanda. Our all-inclusive summer holiday gorilla trekking packages cover everything you need: gorilla permits, accommodation and transportation to and from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park. We believe in making your trip as stress-free as possible, allowing you to focus on the adventure ahead while we handle the logistics. Let’s break down what’s included in our gorilla trekking packages.

Your Gorilla Permit: What’s Included and What’s Not

A gorilla permit is essential for anyone wishing to visit the endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. This permit is issued by the Rwanda Development Board and grants you access to the park, allowing you to spend one hour with a habituated gorilla family. Your gorilla permit covers the following:

• One hour with the gorillas: During this time, you can take still photos and simple videos.
• Ranger and guide services: A trained ranger guide will accompany you and there will also be tourism police for added security.
• Park entry fee: This fee, which is part of your permit, is valid for 24 hours and grants you access to the park.

Please note that gorilla permits are date-specific and non-transferable, so it’s important to book in advance. The permits sell out quickly, especially during the summer months, so contact us early to secure your spot!
