Located just 1-2 hours from Bwindi, Kabale offers an excellent base for gorilla trekking and other incredible experiences. Whether you prefer a short visit or an extended stay, Trek Africa Gorillas will customize your trip for an unforgettable adventure.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park from Kabale

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in Africa. It is home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, making it the top destination for gorilla trekking. The park is divided into four trekking sectors: Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo. From Kabale, you can easily access any of these sectors for an incredible gorilla experience.

To secure your trek, you need to obtain a gorilla permit in advance. Trek Africa Gorillas will handle the permit booking process for you, ensuring a seamless experience. Once your permit is secured, you will embark on a guided trek through Bwindi’s dense forest, where you’ll have a chance to observe these magnificent primates in their natural habitat.

Deepen Your Experience with the Gorilla Habituation Experience

For those seeking a more in-depth encounter, the gorilla habituation experience offers a rare opportunity to spend up to four hours with a gorilla family still undergoing habituation. Unlike the standard trek, which allows only one hour of interaction, this experience provides deeper insights into gorilla behavior, movement and communication. Gorilla habituation is conducted exclusively in the Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors and only four visitors are allowed per day. Permits for this activity are limited, so early booking is essential.

Bird Watching Tours in Bwindi – A Paradise for Bird Enthusiasts

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, boasting over 350 bird species, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics. Key bird species to look out for include:
