Best Time for Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale is possible year-round, with an impressive 99% chance of sightings. However, some months offer better conditions than others.
Best Months (Dry Season)
- June to October
- December to March
During these months, trails are drier, vegetation is less dense and chimpanzees are easier to spot and photograph.
Wet Season Considerations
- April, May, November
Although vegetation is thicker during the rainy season, chimpanzees tend to stay closer due to abundant food, which can result in shorter treks.
