When to Visit Bwindi for the Best Gorilla Trekking Experience

The best time to go gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is during the dry season from June to October and December to March. During this period, Uganda experiences mild rainfall, making trekking conditions ideal. The vegetation is less dense, making it easier to spot and photograph the mountain gorillas.

While the wet season, from April to May and November, causes the vegetation to grow thicker, it can still be a great time for trekking. The treks tend to be shorter, as the gorillas don’t travel far in search of food. However, visibility may be limited during these months. The Gorilla Habituation Experience is available year-round, with a 99% chance of seeing mountain gorillas.
