Why Rushaga Is Ideal for Gorilla Trekking

Rushaga is located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and is home to 5 habituated gorilla families—the largest number in any sector of the park. The terrain here makes it one of the easier areas to trek in, which is why it’s a popular choice for visitors.

Rushaga is also known for offering a unique Gorilla Habituation Experience, where you can spend extended time with the gorillas. Two families—Bushaho and Bikyingi—are currently part of the habituation process.

For a more immersive experience, you can also visit the Batwa community, which offers a fascinating cultural encounter.
