When is the Best Time to Go Gorilla Trekking in Uganda?

The best time for gorilla trekking in Uganda is during the dry seasons, which are:

During these months, the trails are less muddy and visibility is better, allowing for clearer views of the gorillas amidst the forest vegetation.

How to Book Gorilla Trekking in Uganda: Step-by-Step Guide

To secure your spot for gorilla trekking, it’s crucial to book your permit in advance. Permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), with their main offices located in Kampala and Kisoro:

• If you’re arriving in Uganda through Entebbe, it’s best to buy your permit in Kampala.
• If you’re starting your journey from Kigali, Rwanda, you can purchase your permit at the UWA office in Kisoro, just a short drive from Bwindi.

Alternatively, let Trek Africa Gorillas handle the permit booking process for you. Once you confirm your travel dates, our team can tentatively reserve your permit online. After payment, we’ll secure the permit immediately and send you a scanned copy for your records. This ensures you’re all set for your gorilla trekking adventure.

• Long trousers (2 pairs): Protects your legs from scratches and insect bites.
• Waterproof hiking boots: Essential for navigating the often muddy trails.
