Best Time to Visit Virunga National Park for Gorilla Trekking

Virunga’s tropical climate means the park can receive unpredictable rainfall year-round. However, the dry seasons from December to February and June to September are ideal for trekking. During these months, the trails are drier, making it easier to navigate through the dense vegetation and increasing your chances of spotting gorillas. The wet season, from March to May and October to November, brings more rainfall, making the trails slippery and vegetation thicker, which can make gorilla tracking more challenging.
