Best Time for Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge

The best time for chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge is during Uganda’s dry seasons, which run from June to October and December to March. During these months, rainfall is minimal, making the forest trails easier to navigate. The vegetation is less dense, improving your chances of spotting chimpanzees and capturing clear photographs.

While trekking is still possible during the wetter months of April, May and November, these periods present some challenges. The forest is lush and the vegetation denser, which can obscure sightings. However, the advantage of trekking in the wet season is that chimpanzees often stay closer since food is readily available in the forest, resulting in shorter trekking times.
