Best Time to Book Your Low Season Gorilla Safari

Booking your gorilla safari at least three months in advance is recommended. Planning ahead not only ensures you get the best rates but also secures your gorilla permits, which can sell out quickly. Once we’ve confirmed availability for the gorilla permits on your selected dates, we’ll inform you right away. If you’re happy with the dates and permits, we’ll guide you on making payment through bank transfer or debit/credit card (please note: card payments carry a small surcharge). After your payment, we’ll secure the permits for you and send you the booking ID and receipt.

Gorilla Permits: What You Need to Know

Your gorilla permit is essential for trekking in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable or Mgahinga National Parks. The permit allows you to spend one hour with a habituated gorilla family. It includes park entry fees, a ranger guide, and tourism police services for your safety. Please note that permits are date-specific, and once issued, they cannot be used for a different date. Be sure to schedule your trek accordingly!

We’ll guide you through the process of booking your permit well in advance to ensure you get your desired trekking dates. Once booked, we’ll take care of collecting your permit from the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and securely store it until your trekking day.

Flying into Kigali, Rwanda or Entebbe, Uganda

We offer flexible options for travelers, allowing you to choose either Kigali (Rwanda) or Entebbe (Uganda) as your entry point. Kigali is often preferred for its proximity to Bwindi, which helps avoid long drives from Entebbe. Whether you fly into Entebbe or Kigali, we’ll handle all your airport transfers and transport to Bwindi, ensuring a seamless start to your safari.
