- Uganda Gorilla Permits:
- $800 for foreign non-residents.
- $700 for foreign residents.
- $80 for East African citizens (including South Sudan).
- The permit grants you a one-hour encounter with mountain gorillas. If you’d like to spend more time with them, you can opt for the Gorilla Habituation Experience for $1500, which lasts 4 hours.
- Rwanda Gorilla Permits:
- $1500 for foreign non-residents.
- $500 for foreign residents.
- $200 for East African citizens.
- Rwanda offers 12 habituated gorilla families, and only 96 permits are available each day.
- DR Congo Gorilla Permits:
- $400 during the high season (Mid-December to Mid-March, June to October).
- $200 during the low season (Mid-March to Mid-May, Mid-October to Mid-December).
- Permits for lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park cost $400 for foreign non-residents, $200 for East African residents, and $20 for national residents.

Age Limit for Gorilla Trekking

Best Time for Gorilla Trekking
Gorilla trekking is available year-round, but the best time is during the dry season, from June to early September and in January and February. During these months, the trails are more accessible, and the vegetation is less dense, making it easier to spot the gorillas.
